Times up for Serial Predators!

May 8, 2018 Governor Hogan signed “The Repeat Sexual Predator Prevention Act” into law!
After 14 years of working on the bill, and with the hard work and dedication of so many legislators, advocates, and prosecutors across the state, we have successfully allowed prosecutors to have the tools necessary to hold serial rapists and child molesters accountable by allowing prosecutors to introduce evidence that the defendant had a pattern of predatory behavior. .

State Senator Jim Brochin 2018

This is a victory for every resident of Maryland, and I’m proud to have been the Senate sponsor and humbled by those who supported the bill. It was not easy, and it took years, but ultimately–justice won.

As I mentioned to the Baltimore Sun, this is “the most important thing I’ve ever done. This is going to take really bad people and put them in jail for a long time.”

To those who actively supported the legislation, thank you for helping to balance the scales of justice.

Senator Jim Brochin
